There are so many useful ways to use baking soda around your home.
Baking soda is another very useful ingredient you most likely have at hand in your kitchen. We use it fo upset tummies, to bake and to clean, and my daughter has experimented with baking soda in a teeth whitener. It’s good together with vinegar for everything except tummy aches where they should be kept apart since when combined they have a bit of a volcano effect. Unlike vinegar baking soda is safe to combine with bleach if you usually use it.
Baking soda is a salt and has lots of great uses around your house and in your family. It is non toxic and odor less.
Add a spoon full to your pancake mix to make fluffier pancakes and put a teaspoon in a glass of water to soothe tummy aches.
One of my favorite ways to use baking soda is in a bath. This is my recipe:
About a cup each of baking soda, himalayan salt, epsom salt and apple cider vinegar. Soak in the bath for at least twenty minutes.
I find this bath deeply nourishing and great for my skin. It’s a very salty bath and your skin will be very happy after. If you like your bath less salty, use less salt and experiment with the ratios. Delicious 🙂
In the kitchen baking soda is great for especially removing smells. If you have smelly containers you can soak them in warm water and baking soda to get rid of it. It is great for removing stains the same way, just soak in water and baking soda.
For your laundry, you can add baking soda to your load to both soften hard water and get more out of your detergent or bleach as it increases their potency.
In general it is a very gentle and powerful cleaner that helps get rid of stains and smells just mixed with some warm water. It’s gentle on your hands too 🙂
